Training with Robinson Helicopters

Robinson Helicopter Training

Helicopter training at Upper Limit Aviation is done in Robinson piston engine aircraft and Bell turbine aircraft. Also available is a FAR 141 approved Fly-It® simulated flight training device for instrument training.

All Robinson helicopters used for training are owned, operated and maintained by Upper Limit Aviation and meet the requirements of FAR 141.39, and are equipped with the avionics for day and night flight as specified in FAR 91.205.

Robinson Piston Engine Helicopter Training
As the largest manufacturer of helicopters, Robinson helicopters are the fastest growing training helicopter due to their cost effectiveness, safety standards and performance capabilities. By training at high altitude in Robinson helicopters, our students learn the importance of weight and balance, and density altitude.

To teach or to perform a flight review in a Robinson R22, an SFAR 73 awareness training and 200 hours of helo time is required with 50 of those being in an R22. As an industry standard for training, obtaining the necessary hours in a Robinson helicopter prepares students as future instructors within a competitive field.

Turbine Aircraft
For all courses, excluding Private Pilot, training is available in the Bell 206B-3 JetRanger. With the lowest operating costs and best safety record in its class, it contains a collective mounted throttle, rupture resistant fuel cells and shoulder harnesses as standard equipment.

Gaining turbine flight hours while training gives students the needed experience and allows for an easier transition into the professional environment outside of the classroom.
